14-villg-1Suffering due to many problems and inconveniences the 14 villages merchants face, under the leadership of corporator Jabbar Khan has submitted a memorandum to Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik. Ever since the 14 villages was brought under the jurisdiction of NMMC, there have been controversial disputes. The merchants of 14 villages allege that they had been victimized in the course. The villagers accuse the merchants of taking away their land and illegally running their business establishments on them. On several occasions, action has been taken against these merchants by authorities. According to the merchants, they have been doing business from the 14 villages from the last 18 to 20 years. Atlast, the merchants came together to form the Konkan Merchant Welfare Association to make their voice heard. The president of the association and NCP corporator Jabbar Khan has submitted a memorandum of their problems and demands to Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik. Navi Mumbai News also spoke to the association’s advocate Shyam Sundar Dangat and another merchant. The merchants informed the minister about the various problems they face like unjustified action against them and absence of water, electricity and proper roads in 14 villages that is leading to their businesses running in losses. Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik has assured that he would see into their problems and see if some solution can be sort.
