5% reservation in new auto permits for mill workers’ children

Henceforth, there will be reservation of 5% in auto rickshaw permits for mill workers children. The same was announced by the transport minister Diwakar Raote.

“Over so many years we have realized that the children of mills workers did not get a helping hand from the government to make them independent. By giving this reservation, we are trying to help them do something new,” he said during a press conference where  Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray was also present.

The new reservation will come into effect for the upcoming lottery of 1 lakh new auto rickshaw permits that the state government will be giving for the Mumbai metropolitan region.
