As the nation grapples with the odds faced by the COVID-19 pandemic, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader, Arvind Kejriwal demanded via video conference that all the private hospitals in Delhi must compulsorily treat the patients who are infected with the novel coronavirus pandemic calling the decision non-negotiable.
The Delhi CM gave stringent warning terming that strict action will be taken if hospitals are found denying or refusing to treat patients infected by the deadly virus.
The state of Delhi has reported over 26,334 total positive COVID-19 cases with 10,315 recoveries with the death toll rising to 708.
Arvind Kerjriwal stated that some hospitals are denying admission to COVID-19 patients and that the people who think they will be able to do black marketing of hospital beds using the influence of their protectors who hail from other parties will not be spared to such injustice in this time of crisis.
The Delhi CM requested the people some time and promised to end the business of black marketing of hospital beds in the state. Arvind Kejriwal also stated that the government of Delhi has launched a new mobile app with an aim to put an end to the black marketing of hospital beds.
He said that the app will be updated daily once at 10 am and once at 6 pm. Arvind Kejriwal however stated except for a couple of hospitals which perform such malpractices, most of the other hospitals function smoothly and do not indulge in the malpractices of hospital beds.
The Delhi CM also reminded the uproar made by the hospitals when they tried to make the information and count the total number of beds and ventilators in Delhi’s hospitals.
