The XII HSC results was a big boost in academics for the Navi Mumbai region as two of the toppers hail from the satellite city. The first being Harshad Chavan who has scored 96.67%. And the overall city topper just can’t stop smiling. The 17-year-old student of Swami Vivekanand Junior College, Chembur while had topped in his X Std did not expect to top the HSC exams. For Harshad it was not coaching classes but the support from parents and teachers that made him through. Harshad says that while there were no specific preparations, it was full concentration in studies that was different. Harshad wants to pursue computer engineering. His message to the students was to never let go and keep trying. Another success story of Navi Mumbai is HSC results commerce topper Manali Lakhotia who topped in commerce with 91.33%. Manali, a student from SIES, Nerul, believes in the maxim “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”. Swimming every alternate day kept her rejuvenated in the run-up to her exams. Although she did spend atleast three hours daily for studying. For her too, moral support from her parents was a part of her success. Manali wants to pursue Chartered Accountant in the future.
