Mumbai is famous for some of the oldest eatery corners. Amongst these is the CTO vada pav wala opposite to Hutatma Chowk. As the day begins, the eatery corner is thronged by public. CTO vada pav wala, the name to this has been given by the owners of the stall, as this stall is situated across the Bombay High Court near the Central Telegraph Office facing Hutatma Chowk. Functioning since 38 years, the vada pav stall was started by Manohar Satam, who was an employee at the Central telegraph office. Presently, his four sons are running the stall. The vada pav contains special Ghati masala, which is famous among the citizens who come in the area just to have their favourite snack. One can enjoy the piping hot vada pav with complimentary fried chillies 15:05 TO 15:10. This joint is always crowded with students and office goers. CTO vada pav has also won the fifth position at the recently held Shiv Vada pav sammelan. The special Ghati masala, which is a vital ingredient, gives the vada pav its unique taste. We also spoke to some of the customers, who are still fond of CTO vada pav, and come to this joint frequently. Vada pav is the tastiest and affordable snack in a city like Mumbai. Even though dishes like Pizzas and burgers are have got their own positions on the menu of people, their love for vada pav has never subsided.
