Around 350 homes at Sabli village in Ghansoli has been declared illegal by the Mumbai High Court. Post the decision, CIDCO and NMMC are directed to raze down these illegal settlements. This is the Sabli village at Ghansoli where around 350 families have been living for the last 20 to 25 years. However, the Mumbai High Court’s order has shocked them to the core as their settlements have been declared illegal. After this order, NMMC and CIDCO have decided to raze down these illegal dwellings. The decision is an obvious shock to the residents as they have ration cards and have been paying electricity bills and water bills for the last many years. The residents also alleged that after a meeting of NMMC and CIDCO water connection to Sabli village was also discontinued. We tried to speak to the concerned official at CIDCO regarding this issue who was unavailable for comment. With cameraperson Dyaneshwar Mali, Shailendra Upadhyay for NMTV News.
