Air Show for special children for Navy Day celebrations

In wake of the 44th Navy day celebration which will be held on December 4, there is a line up of events that will be held to mark this day. One celebration is aimed for an air show for differently abled children at INS Shikara. Others include visits to ships for schoolchildren on the same day at Tiger Gate, Naval Dockyard, Open Sea Swimming Competition at INWTC, Colaba, Beating The Retreat and a tattoo ceremony between December 2 and 4 at Gateway of India.
Navy Day is celebrated to remember the attack on Pakistan’s naval base at Karachi. “This commemorates the courageous attack on Karachi harbour during the Indo-Pak war on December 4, 1971, and reveres martyrs of that war,” said a defence official.
