Former don and Maharashtra legislator Arun Gawli’s party, Akhil Bharatiya Sena, will contest six seats from Maharashtra in the forthcoming Assembly elections. Arun Gawli will contest from the Byculla Assembly constituency. Addressing a press conference, Gawli’s daughter and corporator Geeta Gawli informed the ABS chief would contest the elections from jail, and his family would support him. He is scheduled to file his nomination on Tuesday. Gawli was keen to contest the Mumbai North Central Lok Sabha seat on a BSP ticket, but was refused by the party. The ABS party would be contesting 4 seats from Aurangabad and one from Kolhapur. While Arun Gawli will be once again try his luck from Byculla constituency. She said that the social work done by her father would lead to his victory in elections. Currently in prison, Gawli was elected to the Assembly from the South Mumbai constituency of Chinchpokli in 2004. Geeta Gawli said that it was political pressure because of which her father was not getting bail. Also present during the press conference was Arun Gawli’s wife.
