dav-3The All India Mahatma Hans Raj Aryan Tournament, Western Region ended in the complex of D.A.V. Public School, New Panvel with a bang. Like last year, this year too the Championship trophy was bagged by Dav Public School Nerul. A colorful prize distribution ceremony gave a fitting end to the All India Mahatma Hnasraj Aryan Tournament at DAV Public School, New Panvel. The three day tournament saw over 2000 students of DAV Public Schools from the states of Maharashtra, Gujrat and Rajasthan participating in games like kho kho, kabbadi, and athletics to ball games like basketball, hockey, football and cricket. Present during the occasion as the chief guest was International hockey player Satinder Singhwalia, Maharashtra Sports Authority of India’s Assistant Director V N Bhandarkar, Star player of movie Chak De India Shilpa Shukla, Guinness Book World Record holder B B Naik, reliance Group Senor Vice President Thomas Matthew, Director of DAV Group western region, Dr. K B Khushal and DAV Public School Managing Committee’s Vice president Usha Nair. During the closing ceremony, the students entertained the audience with a classical dance performance of Tamil Nadu. D.A.V. schools have had a tradition of producing great sports persons like the great Kapil Dev and Mohinder Amarnath, Yuvraj Singh who had in the past bought laurels to our country. The tournament will help yield many good players who will make us proud at world-class level. Also, Mrs. Parvesh Kushal, the principal of DAV Managed J H Ambani School, Lodhivali which was a co host of the tournament stressed the importance of sports. The Over all championship trophy was once again bagged by DAV Public School, Nerul and the runner was DAV Public School, New Panvel. Having an interest in running race during his school times, Regional Director Dr. K B Kushal too shared a few words with us.
