American soul icon Percy Sledge passes away at 73 after fighting battle with liver cancer, US

American soul icon Percy Sledge who was best known for his hit album ‘When A Man Loves A Woman’ in year 1996 died at age 73. According to Percy Sleth’s agent the singer had been battling with liver cancer for more than a year, but at last couldn’t gain control over his illness.

The Alabama born star was actually a hospital orderly but got into singing career after his girlfriend left him for another man.
