There is a young chess player amongst us. And it’s not just a player but a champion at it. Sagar Joshi, a resident of Panvel has won the Youngest Player of the tournament award at the 10th Memorial Chess Championship 2009. Sagar Joshi from Fr Agnels Multipurpose school, Vashi sparkles in the 10th Dr .Patwardhan Memorial Chess Championship 2009 held recently at Panvel. The championship was organized by Krishnabharti Trust. Out of the 121 participants Sagar exhibited his good game and carved his name on the trophy given for the youngest player of the tournament. Seven year old Sagar has had an interest in chess since he was four years old. His parents and grandparents taught him how to play chess after which he was coached by Diip Desai. Praising Sagar, the coach Dilip Desai called him a small genius. And at such a tender age, it is no wonder that Sagar was the main attraction at the championship.
