ANANT GADGIL FILES COMPLAINT WITH NAVI MUMBAI POLICE COMMISSIONER OVER FRAUD LETTER

The issue of unfair elections of members to the Standing Committee has turned ugly after an official complaint has been filed with the Navi Mumbai Police for the fraud letter presented during the elections. The Congress state spokesperson Anant Gadgil has submitted a letter of complaint against the fraud letter submitted in his name during the elections. The complaint has been given to Commissioner of Police Ramrao Wagh. He however says that without a complaint from the presiding officer during the election, there is little that they can do in the matter. It may be recalled that on a letter submitted in the name of Anant Gadgil, Congress corporator Namdeo Bhagat lost the elections to Santosh Shetty. When the matter of unfair elections was taken to the Chief Minister, a subsequent order was given by the Urban Development Dept. to NMMC putting a stay on the elections. However, the NMMC administration is keen on filing its reply at the earliest so that the present standing committee meets and election of the next Chairman can resume without any unnecessary delays.
