And in another disturbing case, gas leakage was again reported at Turbhe. This time three women became victims of the deadly gas who were immediately taken to the NMMC hospital and are undergoing treatment. It has only been a few days and once again gas leakage at Turbhe has been reported. It maybe recalled that on August 6th gas had leaked from the unattended drums at Indian Trading Company. The incident was so severe that it around 25 people were affected by it and where admitted in the hospital. While investigation on this case was still going on that another was reported in which three women became victims to the deadly gas and were admitted in the NMMC hospital at Vashi. We spoke with the investigation officer in this regard. Despite these incidents, the Navi Mumbai police and MPCB has failed to take ay action against these chemical companies which are functioning illegally. When our team tried to contact the officials at MPCB they clearly refused to talk to us nor did they wish to comment if action would be taken against the illegal chemical companies. Shiv Shakti Nagar at Turbhe where the two incidents took place has schools and residential complexes and the five illegal godowns of the chemical industries situated here are proving deadly for them.
