APMC DIRECTORIAL POLLS AT ITS FINAL STAGE

The elections for Director on the Managing Committee board of Asia’s largest Agricultural market have reached its final stage. 29 October was the final day for various groups for campaigning and promoting their candidates. Vrushali Chitre brings an update on the last day of campaigning. Two candidates from each of the five markets of APMC are campaigning for the directorship of the APMC Committee. In these elections, Ashok Gawade and Shankar Pingle are contesting for directorship of the Vegetable market. Speculations are running wild in APMC which is coming out in favor of Shankar Pingle. Speaking to NMTV News, Shankar Pingle voiced confidence in his winning the elections. Mohan Gurnani and Kirti Rana of Navi Mumbai Merchant’s Chamber are competing for the directorship of Spice Market. Ashok Walunj and Rajendra Raskar are the candidates for Onion-Potato market, Balasaheb Bende and Sanjay Pansare of Fruit association for fruit market, Ashok Badiya and Jayesh Vora for Grain Market and for Mathadi union MLC Shashikant Shinde and Ambekar are contesting the elections.
