APMC fruit market’s committee elections have quite heated up with the present Director Balasaheb Bende and merchant Sanjay Pansare contesting against each other. A visit to the APMC fruit market shows that the area is reeling under unhygienic condition and there is no discipline of traffic. Merchants have time and again raised concern and taken out morchas but the result has been zilch which can be called as the failure of the committee and its director. Now that the APMC elections are near, the director Balasaheb Bende is once again contesting for the elections his symbol being cup-saucer. The condition of the market and his seven year tenure on the post will favor Balasaheb Bende in the elections or not is a wait and watch but Bende is quite confident of his victory. The opposite candidate Sanjay Pansare whose symbol is pressure cooker has the support of the merchants and is confident of his victory.
