As the Dubai Canal is all set to be completed in the coming three years, Bur Dubai would become the new man-made island, UAE

A step forward to boost the Dubai bid for World Expo 2020, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rasid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, launched a two billion canal project on Wednesday. The three kilometer long canal would begin from the Business Bay further cutting under Shaikh Zayed Road, Al Wasl Road and Jumeirah Beach Road before it merges with the Gulf waters along Dubai’s shoreline. The project is estimated to be completed within a period of three years, after which Bur Dubai would become the new man-made island of Dubai. Kiran Kidwai – International Desk, NMTV
