ATS AND POLICE CONFIRMED HOTEL ITC FORTUNE’S BLOW UP THREAT WAS A HOAX CALL

fortune-1Later during the evening the police sources confirmed that the call made at ITC Fortune of blowing it up was a hoax call. A call was received at the hotel around 7.30 threatening to blow up the place after which guests were asked to vacate the premises and a through check was held by the police. The unimaginable attack on Mumbai seemed like would also spread to Navi Mumbai. After the rumor of planting a bomb at NRI Complex, a woman made a call at the ITC Fortune hotel, Vashi threatening to blow up the place within an hour. The news shocked the entire city and after the call, the guests at the hotel most of which were foreigners were asked to vacate the premises of the hotel. However, the CEO of the hotel R K Singh informed NMTV News that the news of receiving a threat call was hoax and that they themselves had requested the guests to vacate the premises for a security check of their premises. However, when we spoke with one of the Directors of the hotel, Lalit Tekchandani, he informed that he had received a call from an unidentified woman threatening to blow up the place. While the two heads of the Hotel gave contradictory statements, DCP of Zone 1 R D Shinde too admitted that the call was received but fortunately it was a hoax call as the search of the hotel premises did not reveal anything. The hotel had around 80-90 foreigners staying. After the search the guests were asked to move back into the hotel. With cameraperson Roshan Hate, Sudhir Sharma for NMTVNews.
