State Industries Minister Subhash Desai and his department are taking every attempt to scrap the Transport Division Loss Recovery (TDLR) surcharge. The minister along with few members of the BEST committee met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis seeking his intervention in the case.
“We are concerned about the transport loss surcharge being imposed on city residents. It should be scrapped. It is unfair to levy the surcharge on 10.5 lakh residents many of whom do not even travel by the red buses. Also, the residents have been paying this surcharge for the past few years and it was supposed to be discontinued from April 1 this year,” Desai said while speaking to a news daily.
