The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary Gopinath Munde alleged that the government has cheated the people of riot-affected Miraj by slapping notices on the dissenting Ganesh mandals and by arresting their workers. BJP General Secretary Gopinath Munde said that Chief Minister Ashok Chavan had assured that the government will not take action against the workers. Still, the police issued notices to the Ganesh mandals, threatening them of legal action if the Ganesh idols are not immersed immediately. Also, the workers, who were released by the court, were re-arrested immediately after their release. Gopinath Munde demand that the government should explain within 24 hours why they did not adhere to their assurance. He further alleged that the state was politicizing the entire issue saying that the opposition showed maturity in handling the riots, but not the government. He said that the Muslims votes will definitely not be polarized after the riot as the Congress-NCP is hoping. With cameraperson Raju Sharma, Dhiraj Mishra for NMTV News.
