Attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi after his comment that Congress didn’t take any action during the anti-Sikh riots in Delhi in 1984, the Congress party said that they did call in the Indian army into Delhi in 1984, but the Gujarat government led Modi stood by silently when the 2002 riots in the state occurred. “In 2002 the BJP government in Gujarat didn’t heed his own party’s Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee’s advice (then Prime Minister). He (Modi) should look into his own backyard before accusing others,” said Congress spokesman Anand Sharma said.
