To ensure that this monsoon, Mumbai faces no flooding, the Mithi river is being cleaned as the high rise of this river caused the 26/7 deluge. Hence the authorities are cleaning the river by using technology. One such was seen at Mahim causeway where blasting is going on to dig out black stones. Pre monsoon cleaning work is being carried out across the city in full force. Same is the case of the Mithi river where blasting process is being carried out to pull out the pelts and stones. With the help of technology around 25 rounds have been completed of blasting the river. One such sight was seen near the Mahim causeway. The work is being carried under the guidance of the Central water Power Research of Pune. We spoke to an expert on site about how the process worked.
