Addressing the media, BMC Standing Committee Chairman Ravindra Vaikar has stated that if the pre-monsoon cleaning work is not completed by May 25, then strict action would be taken against the contractor. Unhappy with the pace at which the cleaning work going on in the city, he stated that it is imperative that the cleaning of drainages and gutters are carried out as soon as possible to avoid flooding this monsoon. He informed that around Rs 72 crore have been spent for pre-monsoon cleaning work. However, it is quite necessary that the cleaning work is completed before the rains to avid any mishappenings or inconvenience to the citizens. Bureau Report – NMTV
