BMC signs MoU with Russian museum for development of arts and culture

A historic an MoU was signed between the BMC and the Hermitage museum at St Petersburg in Russia on Wednesday. The MoU is for comprehensive development of arts and culture. The general director of hermitage, Mikhail Piotrovskiy, CM Devendra Fadnavis and BMC commissioner Ajoy Mehta were present during the signing of the MoU.

“The Hermitage is the one of the largest and oldest museums in the world, comprising over 3 million items including the largest collection of paintings in the world,” Fadnavis tweeted. He stressed on the need of preservation of history, art and culture and how the MoU can help achieve this goal.

“Through this MoU, we can restore and conserve art, culture and rich heritage in India. To leverage expertise, we would like to organize exhibitions, screenings and undertake restoration,” the CM said.
