Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray said the Dharavi development plan should be brought before the all-party committee for its approval within a week’s time. He was addressing a party meeting at Dharavi. At the Sena party meeting at Dharavi, Sena Executive President Uddahv Thackeray said that the Dharavi re-development plan has to be okayed by the all-party panel. He said that this should be done in eight days, failing which the Sena will not allow Dharavi’s redevelopment. Citing his party’s demands, Uddhav said the potters’ enclaves should be retained as they are the original inhabitants of Dharavi. Schools, shrines and temples belonging to any religion and hospitals too should be retained. Local residents should not be subjected to inconvenience at any cost, he added. The Sena scion has also demanded a 400-sq-ft tenement for every local resident of Dharavi. He said that his party will fight tooth and nail for these demands. A NMTV Bureau Report.
