BUILT ON INTERNATIONAL STANDARD BUT PLAGUED WITH CIVIC ISSUES

panvel-railway-1Better late than never seems to be the case of the newly built Panvel railway station. Built after a long wait, it has definitely brought relief to the commuters but at the same time incomplete construction work is also seen here. Panvel railway station was built on an international level with 12 boogie local plying here. The station has four platforms with Panvel-Uran and Panvel-Thane rails would be started making commuting easy for commuters. The Panel railway station manager Dinesh Kumar Gupta stated that Panvel is connected to many important nodes of the city and developing it into a Terminus would benefit the commuters most. While the station has become a convenience for commuters at the same time there are many problems. There is digging work at the entrance of the station leaving dust everywhere, indicators at the platforms do not work and although there is a drinking water tank but no tap has been attached to it yet. Also the construction of subway at the station has been left unfinished as a huge stone is at the middle obstructing construction work. And most important of all, the station lacks a bridge and hence commuters have to cross tracks to go to New Panvel. With cameraperson Dyanheswar Mali, Amjad Ansar for Navi Mumbai News.
