Like last year, under CIDCO’s Navi Mumbai Festival, a Palm Beach marathon was held to celebrate the spirit of Navi Mumbai. Sports players, enthusiasts, runners and residents came out of their homes in the early morning to race against Global Warming. Many dignitaries were also a part of this event, which included Vice Chairman and MD of CIDCO, G S Gill, his wife Rajee Gill along with his two sons and daughter-in-law. Also present were Commissioner of Police Gulabrao Pol, Deputy RTO Bharat Kalashkar, DMC, NMMC Jagannath Sinnarkar, builder Bhupendra Shah and others. The guests were not far behind in joining the crowd and showed the same enthusiasm in the race. For the public it was either the cause of the race which was run against Global warming, or keeping themselves fit or just enjoying the spirit of unity, but all came in huge numbers to be a part of the event. At the end, a prize distribution ceremony was held where the winners were awarded cash prize ranging from Rs 7000 to Rs 1000. With Dhiraj Mishra, Sana Warsia for NMTV News.
