NMMC Standing Committee Chairman Anant Sutar visited the Turbhe dumping ground to get to know about the working of the dumping ground. Present along with him was Standing Committee Member Shivram Patil and NMMC Chief City Engineer Mohan Dagaonkar. Since NCP corporator Anant Sutar has become the NMMC Standing Committee Chairman, he has been actively involving himself in the working of the administration and the various projects undergoing in the city. In the past, Anant Sutar had been a Standing Committee member for eight years and hence brings along with him a lot of experience. With the aim to understand the working of the Turbhe dumping ground, he paid a visit to the site along with Standing Committee members Shivram Patil, Suresh Kulkarni and Ashok Patil. He was accompanied by the officials of NMMC led by Chief City Engineer Mohan Dagaonkar. The Chairman first studied the layout of the Turbhe dumping ground and later sat with the city engineer for the details. The Chairman informed that the next Standing Committee will be having a proposal on the Turbhe dumping ground for which he made a prior visit to the site. We also spoke with city Engineer Mohan Dagaonkar who informed the working beginning with the truck entering the ground. The dump is segregated, leveled and then filled with mud. On the Turbhe dumping ground, the NMMC has started its ambitious carbon credit project through which it plans to generate power. The project is currently in the registration stage.
