CHIEF MINISTER POST IN MIND, ASHOK CHAVAN, VILASRAO DESHMUKH AND NARAYAN RANE POWER PLAY

congress-top-leaders-3The power tussle between the top leadership of the state Congress for greater say in ticket distribution has already begun within the Congress. Chief minister Ashok Chavan, Union industries minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and industries minister Narayan Rane are pulling the strings no end to enforce their clout, setting the stage for three power centres within the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC). Interestingly, all three leaders are claimants for the chief minister’s post. Chavan, who became the CM after 26/11, will fight hard to stage a comeback, while Deshmukh will make attempts to muster maximum support among the elected members post polls to pitch his case with the central leadership for the top slot. Narayan Rane is going the extra mile to ensure there is no interference from others when it comes to decision-making in the 15 constituencies stretched across Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg and Raigad in the Konkan region. Rane will once again try to attain his unaccomplished dreams of becoming the chief minister even if it is a very difficult mission. From Thane, Manoj Singh for NMTV News.
