China-Japan attempts to make fresh start after dispute since wartime history, Beijing

On Monday at a Summit that was held in Beijing, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe made their first attempt to a fresh start by shaking hands which was visibly uncomfortably done. The eyes of every other leader as well as of every reporter were on the two leaders as nobody did want to miss out this meet. However, even while shaking hands both the leaders couldn’t help to hide their stiffness or manage to even try to smile while looking at the reporters and at the camera. The meet was an effort to rebuild those diplomatic and economic ties that had been shattered over an island dispute and increasing hostility over wartime history.
