CIDCO has again adorned the role of making affordable homes. A mass housing scheme underway at Kharghar and another coming up at Ulwe has spelt all good news for home buyers. Sana Warsia spoke to CIDCO Managing Director G S Gill to know more. CIDCO is any buyer’s favorite home maker because CIDCO homes are legally hassle free, there are no chances of any buyer being duped like builders are known for and most importantly home buyers can buy their dream homes at affordable rates ! While CIDCO had deviated from making affordable homes for some years but with G S Gill taking over as CIDCO Managing Director, CIDCO was back into action – floating mass housing schemes for the common man. One such mass housing scheme underway in full swing is at Kharghar. And for those who missed buying their dream homes in CIDCO’s project at Kharghar, there’s good news. The corporation has planned another mass housing scheme – this time at Ulwe. The project will cater to the housing needs of the Middle Income Group and the Lower Income Group. Coming up at Sector 19 A of Ulwe, the mass housing project will have 1344 houses. The structures will be Ground + 7 floors with each building even having provision of lifts. Like there other housing schemes, even this one will give buyers two choices – they can either choose from the 800 apartments of 323.35 square meter each or 544 apartments of 451.66 square meter each. The former will called as UL-1 type while the latter will be UL-2 type apartments. The project is slated to be completed by 2011. Since the homes will cost anywhere between Rs. 6 lakhs to Rs. 10 lakhs, the announcement have come as a blessing for home buyers in Navi Mumbai. In another two weeks, CIDCO plans to make application forms available. The deposit amount for UL-1 type houses have been fixed at Rs. 20, 000 while the deposit for UL-2 type apartments will be Rs. 30, 000. The documents required include domicile certificate, reservation certificate for ST, SC and persons with disabilities, Income Tax certificate, Residential proof, Caste Certificate, service certificate for government employees and medical certificate for senior citizens.
