CIDCO opened Manasvi Stree Sansthan Kendra to mark International Women’s Day. The centre will provide services including legal and health counselling. It will aslo have space for a cultural centre, gym and sporting activities.The centre will also dovetail the training centres started by Cidco at Belapur and Khandeshwar for helping women with self employment training.
Cidco has tied up with a few NGOs in the city to run the library and cultural centre and will depute a team of doctors to conduct health camps, Radha added The centre located in Kalamboli, as the area has a considerable population of those in the low income group and also so that students up to 25 years can prepare for exams.
A fee of Rs 50 will be charged for library facilities. Cidco has tied up with the police and lawyers so that follow up action can be taken against women’s issues. (Helpline: 27820000)
