Mohan-Ninawe-2There is a doctor amongst CIDCO’s PR department. Yes that’s right, Chief PRO of CIDCO Mohan Ninawe has been awarded the prestigious degree in mass communication by the North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon for his thesis on public relations and its changes over the course of time. Hailing from a small village Butibori in Nagpur, Mohan Ninawe’s interest as a student was also into the mass communication field. However, keeping his father’s wish, as at that time being a doctor, engineer or lawyer was the most sought after field, he completed his graduation in BSc. Despite this, due to his interest in mass communication, he used to participate in many personality development camps and workshops in his college. At that time it was his guru Srikant Kulkare, the then editor of Loksatta who prompted him to pursue his interest for mass communication. Then, Ninawe did his bachelors in mass communication from Nagpur University in the year 1994. He completed his masters from Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad in the year 1999. For two years, he worked as a cultural beat journalist in Nagpur. Apart from reporting, he also had varied interests in drawing, painting, theater and thought the best way to utilize all this was in Public Relations. He joined CIDCO in the year 1996 as a public relations officer. A vast planning body, his first task was the publicity of Vishnudas Bhave auditorium. Not stopping here he pursued for his PHD. He began a thesis on public relations, giving a deep insight on issues like the developments witnessed by the public relations sector due to the information revolution. His research revolved around the strengths of the modern public relations industry and its future potential and challenges. What began in 2004, it took four years for Ninawe to collect valuable research data and he finally presented his thesis titled ‘Public Relations in the cyber edge: A critical study in context to Maharashtra’. In his research, he has also taken CIDCO as a case study for the content analysis of his thesis. After giving a presentation in front of a panel of experts in this field, his thesis was approved and he was awarded with the prestigious degree in mass communication by the North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon.
