CIDCO successfully organises the mega Yoga Shibir on the occasion of International Yoga Day

On the occasion of the International Day of Yoga, June 21, 2015 as appealed by the Hon’ Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modiji CIDCO successfully organised the mega Yoga Shibir to commensurate the first world yoga day celebration at CIDCO Exhibition Centre, Sector 30A, Vashi from 6:30 am onwards. The yoga shibir received a massive response as more than 5,000 people of various age groups gathered from different parts of Mumbai, Navi Mumabi and Thane to explore and avail the benefits of yoga.

The inauguration of the yoga shibir was done at the hands of Smt. Manda Mhatre, MLA, CBD Belapur in the presence of Shri Sanjay Bhatia, IAS VC&MD, CIDCO, Shri G S Gill, Former Vice Chairman and Managing Director CIDCO, Shri Prashant Thakur, MLA, Panvel, Smt. Charusheela Gharat, President, Panvel Municipal Council and other renowned personalities from various fields. Shri. Sadashiv Nimbalkar, the Recipient of Padma Shri Award and Founder-Director, Yoga Vidya Niketan made a special guest of appearance.

The Rotary Club of Navi Mumbai and students of St. Xaviers School and S S High School participated in large numbers to take the benefits of the shibir. It was indeed a great pleasure to see the special children performing asanas with full zeal and enthusiasm. “Meditation has changed my life. It has been proven to benefit our mind, body and soul. I have been practising the Sahaj Marg, a form of Raja Yoga by concentrating on the supposition of divine light of the heart. I want each and every one to experience this Raja Yoga to transform their life and for well being,” said Shri Sanjay Bhatia, the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of CIDCO at the Yoga shibir.

Emphasizing on meditation, one of the powerful tools for spiritual growth, Shri Sanjay Bhatia, VC&MD, the follower of the Sahaj Marg conducted a special session for one hour on Raja Yoga. He said, “The goal of Sahaj Marg is referred to self-realization on the premise that the divine exists within the heart of each human being. It is one of the powerful tools for spiritual growth, and is essentially a process to take one beyond the limitations of body and mind.”

Taking into consideration, the hectic working hours of police personnel, and how yoga will help them to reduce their day-to-day stress, CIDCO in association with Divya Patanjali Yogpeeth also conducted an exclusive one hour session for the Navi Mumbai Police Personnels. Shri Prabhat Ranjan, Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner too participated in the Shibir to encourage the police personnels.

This event certainly proved as one of the largest yoga shibir in Navi Mumbai that helped the citizens to get overall exposure and experience yoga, meditation and spirituality with the help many renowned organisations all under one roof.
