net-geo-scholarIn a contest organized by National geographic Channel under the flagship of its nationwide school engagement programme, little champ Saketan Anand has made his parents and school proud by bagging the second place in the Junior Hunt. 11 year old Saketan Anand is a resident of Chembur and a student of DPS School, Nerul. He loves reading books and his knowledge on current affairs came in handy recently when he finished runner up among four finalists at the Aviva Young Scholar Nat Geo Junior Hunt in the country. Saketan was the youngest among four top finishers where more than 4 lakh students had participated. He had to pass memory logic tests to cross through. He was then shortlisted for a camp in Nainital and further got shortlisted for a grooming and personality development at the British Council. Subjects like English and Science that are taught in school helped him. His mother, who did not expect her son to reach such a good level, says that they ensured that they did not pressurize their son. With cameraperson Abhay Prasad, Jan Cabral for NMTV News.
