CM Devendra Fadnavis orders state administration to clear major project files before February 28

Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has asked the state administration to approve all important project files before February 28 so that proper budgetary allocations can be made for these projects in the upcoming state budget.

According to the senior government officials, they have been instructed by the CM’s office to approve all important projects files before February 28. “We are conducting various rounds of meetings to approve the files and submit the remarks. Most of the proposals were in the nascent stage but from last month, things have been moving forward. We are no more wasting time over the files. If the project files are feasible, then quick approvals are submitted. If it did not suit the budget, then we asked the concerned departments to rework on such proposals. In this meeting called by the chief secretary, all concerned departments heads are available for quick decisions” said senior government official requested anonymity.

Prior to Lok Sabha polls, the priority before the government is to approve the loan waiver files, releasing compensations amount to drought-affected people, starting the fodder camps, a subsidy to onion growing farmers etc. So that these issues can be encashed during the poll campaign.

Another official said that earlier the elected representatives used to come to their office either to get the update of the project or to push the developmental work file. “Now, we have been calling them and asking the details. In a limited time, we have to finish a lot of work. ” said senior government official from the urban development department.
