Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh flagged off 11 additional services on harbor line at Panvel Railway Station. It was a historic day for commuters on harbor line as 11 additional services have been introduced by the central railways. Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh flagged off the services in the presence of Minister of State in the Ministry of Railways Naranbhai Rathwa, Raigad Guardian Minister Sunil Tatkare, MLA Vivek Patil and General Manager of Central Railways Soumya Raghavan. The central railways have also converted 14 existing 9 car services to 12 car services. With this suburban services run daily will increase to 1319 and 12 car services will increase to 254. Chief Minister Vilas Rao Deshmukh expressed gratitude to the Central Railways for always working to increase facilities, amenities and convenience of millions of commuters across cities. He also complimented CIDCO for building railway stations that were seen in no other city but Navi Mumbai. Speaking about the MUTP Phase 2, he said that Rs. 5000 Crores will be invested to make the city’s lifeline one of the best.
