Railway statistics show that many deaths are caused while commuters cross railway tracks. Train accidents every year at railway stations, brings to light a reality of how even today commuters cross railway tracks sometimes in the absence of foot-over bridges or sometimes to save time. Crossing railway tracks routinely results in loss of life in the city, but people still do not seem to learn. And neither do the railway authorities appear to be bothered about improving the woefully inadequate facilities at the stations. One of the railway stations which sees a large number of commuters traveling daily is the Vashi railway station where crossing railway tracks is a very common sight due to the absence of a foot over bridge. Commuters in a rush are hence forced to cross railways tracks. Poonam Gurav – NMTV News.
