COMMUTERS OF PAWANNAGAR THANE DEMAND MORE FREQUENCY OF BUS STOPS

tmc-bus-3The residents residing near Pawan Nagar who use the Gaondevi bus depot are facing many problems due to the low frequency of TMT buses in their area, reports Monika Bhosale. During the morning hours, with no TMT buses plying to Pawannagar, the residents of Gandhinagar, Subhashnagar, Vasant Vihar and of the Pawan Nagar are facing many issues while commuting. The commuters allege that there are only 6-7 buses plying through these destination as opposed to the 12 buses that should be plying. They further added that the timings of the buses were also not regular. As per the Central Institute of Road Transport or CIRT rules there is a need of 476 buses but there are only 281 buses on roads in Thane. And around 190 of these buses have seen so much of wear and tear that their condition is deplorable now. To understand the problems of the frustrated residents, MLA Eknath Shinde visited Thane Municipal Transport. Also present along with him was Mayor Smita Indulkar and officers of the transport department. With cameraperson Vinayak Dalvi, Monika Bhosale for NMTV News.
