CONG, NCP MAY FIGHT STATE POLLS TOGETHER

With Congress president Sonia Gandhi making it clear that she does not intend to spoil her party’s relations with Sharad Pawar-led NCP, talks of Congress going it solo in the upcoming assembly polls have died down. However, the party high command rejected his proposal despite Pawar throwing his hat in the ring for the post of prime minister. Chief minister Ashok Chavan, who has been maintaining a low profile, is also of the opinion that the Congress could have picked up more Lok Sabha seats had the NCP leaders cooperated with party functionaries during the poll campaign.
