CONG TO PULL OUT ALL THE STOPS DURING ELECTION CAMPAIGN

The Congress will use all the fire power at its disposal during the poll campaign in the face of widespread discontent among party workers over distribution of tickets. State Congress president Manikrao Thakre and chief of the party’s election campaign committee Sushil Kumar Shinde have said that the campaign for the assembly elections scheduled for October 13 would feature Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, party president Sonia Gandhi, general secretary Rahul Gandhi and other party leaders from different states. The Congress president will be on the campaign trail on October 5, 6, and 10, addressing two public meetings a day across regions. Sonia Gandhi’s public meetings have been planned at Mumbai, Buldhana and Nagpur in Vidarbha, Nanded in Marathwada, and Nashik in North Maharashtra. Thakre said the state unit had also got the campaign dates from AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi, who would address about eight public meetings on October 7 and 8.
