Ward no 79’s Congress candidate Sunil Patil was arrested by the Nerul police for interrogation in the kae pan card case. But till now, no criminal charges have been put against him. The arrested Sunil Patil has alleged conspiracy against him by NCP’s candidate and now corporator Sandeep Sutar. A day before the NMMC elections was to be held, a case of 55 fake pan cards had been reported in ward no 79. At that time the police had arrested a Mohammed Hassan Shaikh in the case. During interrogation, the arrested told the police that he was given Rs 6 lakhs by Congress candidate from the ward Sunil Patil to make fake pan cards. The police then arrested Sunil Patil along with his accomplice in the matter. On the matter, Sunil Patil has alleged a conspiracy against him by his opposition candidates. When asked about his name coming up during the interrogation by the police, he alleged that his opposition had paid them to take him name. He alleged conspiracy by NCP candidate and now corporator of the ward Sandeep Sutar. Sunil Patil’s lawyer Ajay Patil reiterated the same and said that his client was innocent. The NMMC Elections had seen Congress’s Sunil Patil and NCP’s Sandeep Sutar contesting against each other. While Sunil Patil had his social works, Sandeep Sutar had the stronghold of his wife Saluja Sutar’s work as corporator. A keen contest in which, Sandeep Sutar stood victorious.
