CONGRESS ELECTION CAMPAIGN CHIEF BALASAHEB VIKHE PATIL SAYS THAT MONEY LENDERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR FARMERS SUICIDES

vikhe-patil1Congress state election campaign chief Balasaheb Vikhe Patil has said that money lenders alone are responsible for farmers’ suicides. Does this mean that the state’s relief package is waste, quests Rajeev Mishra in his report. Congress State Election Campaigning Chief Balasaheb Vikhe Patil recent statement blaming money lenders for farmers suicides and saying that banks are not to be blamed is a mockery of Congress own stand where it is taking credit for farmer’s relief packages. When the media asked BVP, who is responsible for farmers’ suicides, he said that the main culprits are moneylenders. He said that there was need to make a law against them. He also advocated some needed steps to better the conditions of farmers. If the government knows for a fact that moneylenders are responsible for farmer suicides in the state then why was a Rs. 60, 000 Crore relief packages announced for bank loans taken by farmers? There are speculations that the packages might be for the farmers who are better off and might constitute a vote bank. If there is any truth is these speculations, then it is very unfortunate that the people in power have not spared a chance to even cash on the death of the weak farmers of the state.
