CONGRESS RECEIVES 3140 APPLICATIONS OF TICKET ASPIRANTS FOR STATE ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS

With the uncertainty increasing between the Congress-NCP alliance, tickets aspirants made a beeline to the party ticket decision makers in an attempt of getting ticket to contest in the upcoming elections. 3140 Congress ticket aspirants have filed their applications for candidature for the 288 seats in the upcoming state assembly elections to the Congress Committee. With the uncertainty increasing between the Congress-NCP alliance, tickets aspirants are all glees and eager to get their ticket for the upcoming elections. For the last three days, the NCP office in Mumbai is seeing hordes of ticket aspirants coming in with their leaders and supporters, aspiring for tickets for the 288 seats in the state assembly elections. The ticket aspirants presented their assurances to the State Election Committee. An insight on this was provided by MPCC Chief Manikrao Thackarey in the party’s headquarters at Tilak Bhavan. Manikrao Thackrey repeated the formula of 173-115 with the NCP. He further informed that there was a noticeable increase in the demand of tickets by women aspirants. The maximum applications were received for the Miraj seat and minimum applications was received from the Chief Minister’s and Mumbai President, Kripashankar Singh’s area.
