Sensing that the magic of film star Govinda is not going to fetch votes in the coming elections, the Mumbai Congress is trying to woo Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan. Mumbai Regional Congress Committee chief Kripa Shankar Singh has stated that they will be more than happy to welcome Shah Rukh Khan as a candidate in the next Lok Sabha elections. Speaking during a press conference, Mumbai Regional Congress Committee chief Kripa Shankar Singh informed that for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections there was a mutual understanding of allocating seats between Congress and NCP. Out of the 6 seats available for NCP and Congress, the latter will have 5 candidates while NCP will have one. And this time round, the Mumbai Congress is trying to woo voters by welcoming Shar Rukh Khan as a candidate for the next Lok Sabha elections. Apart from the star appeal, the MRCC feels that he will strike a positive note among Gen-next voters. In 2004, former union petroleum minister Ram Naik lost because of Govinda’s star appeal. Added to that, the intense infighting within the BJP saw a section work against Naik to ensure his defeat. With cameraperson Mehboob Dhanse, Hansraj Kanaujia for NMTV News.
