A hoarding put up by NCP Corporator Ravindra Ithape at the SIES Chowk at Nerul is creating troubles for local residents. The local ward office agrees that the hoarding is illegal but is not doing anything about it. Indication and information boards fixed up by NMMC at the side of the roads indicate the area and other traffic rules, which are useful for the citizens. Surprisingly not bothered or concerned about all this, NCP Corporator Ravindra Ithape has demonstrated how little they care about citizens in their ward when it comes to self publicity. The reason for this is that he has put up a hoarding on one of the information boards near SIES College, Nerul. Even the commuters and pedestrians view it erroneous on the part of corporator to put hoarding on the information board. It should be noted that fixing up hoardings on the sign boards and instruction boards fixed on the edge of roads is a punishable offence under the Government Property Violation Act 1995 clause. But what’s more shameful is the negligence of civic authorities over this issue. The ward officer of Nerul who do not have a count on how many hoardings and banners have been legally put up in their node, agree that even in this case NCP Corporator Ravindra Ithape has not taken the required permission. However, once again demonstrating their nexus with local corporators, the officers of the Nerul ward office are sitting on this violation as mute spectators.
