CRIME HAS INCREASED IN THANE CITY BUT WE’LL IMPROVE THE SYSTEM – SAYS THANE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE ANIL DHERE

thane-crimeIt’s official – there has been an increase in the percentage of crime rate in Thane city and detection rate has fallen down. The Thane Commissioner of Police was seen accepted this in a press conference held in Thane recently. It’s rare that an officer would accept something of this nature but Thane Commissioner of Police Anil Dhere did not hesitate to admit that cases of murder, theft, chain snatching and crime related to property has increased by 5% as compared to previous year. According to statistics, 528 cases of house-breaking were registered in the last 6 months out of which 175 offenses were exposed. As compared to the percentage of crime, the percentage of solving the cases has come down. Thane Commissioner of Police Anil Dhere added that seeing the increase in the population of Thane district, a new Commissionerate would be soon established in Mira Bhayander area. The Thane police’s jurisdiction will have one Police Commissionerate and 1 Rural Police Commissionerate. He assured that the police is working on strengthening their systems. He also added that post the Mumbai terror attacks, a 30 officers squad will be formed and they will be trained on the lines of NSG commandos. From Thane, Manoj Singh from NMTV News.
