tarang-2Keeping up with its tradition of nurturing talents and providing a platform for the students to showcase their talents, DAV Public School, New Panvel, successfully organized, Tarang-2011, the Annual Day function. DAV Public School, New Panvel has always strived to provide a stage, for the students to showcase their talents and cultivate them. Continuing with the belief of promoting holistic development of the children, the school, successfully organized, Tarang-2011, the Annual day. This 10th Annual Cultural festival was structured, in a way, where the Pre-primary, Primary, Secondary and Higher Secondary students showcased performances on the basis of a theme. The theme for the Pre-primary section was “Khilta Bachpan” and the Primary, Secondary and Higher Secondary performed on the theme “Incredible India”. The dignitaries who graced the evening were, Dr. C. Prakash, Vice President, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi; Dr. V.K Sharma, Secretary, DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi; T.R Bangiya, Former President, Arya Samaj, Vashi; DIEMR Director, Dr. KB Kushal and other dignitaries. The evening also witnessed the presence of principals and teachers of the other DAV schools. The cultural extravaganza began with the lighting of the holy lamp by the dignitaries. The dignitaries were welcomed with a floral bouquet. The cultural festival opened with the Welcome dance, where the children took blessings of Maa Saraswati. The first session began with the Pre-Primary dance, based on the theme, “Khilta Bachpan”. Tiny tots danced their heart out on beautiful songs, wearing colorful costumes and holding different props. Their innocence adorned their performances, which was evident from their dance sequence related to nature songs, cartoon characters and group songs. The program then continued with the Annual report by Principal, Bhaswati Bhattacharjee. The dignitaries addressed the audience and gave their message. Each one congratulated the school, for the achievements and all-round development of the children. The second session, “Incredible India”, highlighted the different seasons, Monuments & heritage, culture and achievements of India. In a bid to try something new, the students performed on Ved Mantra’s, sang Qawali and displayed a puppet dance. The highlight of this session was the fashion show, where the students walked the ramp, adorning Indian and western costumes and showcasing the rich culture of India. The dignitaries appreciated the themes taken up by the DAV Public School, and providing such a stage for the students to showcase themselves. DIEMR Director, Dr. KB Kushal, was immensely happy with the splendid performance put up by the children.
