Five dacoits have been arrested by the CBD-Belapur police for looting Piyush Vijaylal Bhavsar of Rs 5 lakh. The same was informed by DCP Pratap Digaonkar during a press conference. The arrested have been identified as Sachin Govind Parab (30), Satyavan Bhikaji Sherekar (28), Amit Santosh Gaikwad (27), Vijay Vaman Madhav (26) and Ranold Anthony Parera (30). Piyush Bhavsar on Monday was standing beneath the CBD-Belapur flyover waiting for a bus after exchanging loose currency at RBI of Rs 5 lakh. The accused approached Bhavsar in a Toyota Qualis said they were from Crime Branch and were searching for Bhavsar since he is wanted in few cases. They took Bhavsar to Pen in Raigad District and took away the cash at gunpoint. Bhavsar had noted the vehicle number and informed the CBD police about the same. Police sent message to all parts of the state immediately and in nakabandi, Mahad police stopped the vehicle and arrested Parab and Sherekar. The accused have been booked under MCOCA.
