The leader demanded action against officials involved in bogus voters’ enrolment. The BJP party has made some serious allegations against the voters’ registration and has said that the supplementary voter’s list published shows a steep rise in the number of voters. The delegation of BJP was meeting the officials of the Election Commission in Mumbai. The delegation submitted some documentary evidence of bogus voters enrolled in the voters’ list, besides names of persons below 18 years also registered in the list. The BJP has given the example of the Mawal constituency for the same. The BJP once again reiterated their demand of having a paper back up for each Electronic Voting Machine and stated that EVMs manufactured post the year 2006 should be used in the assembly elections. While the Election Commission has assured investigations in the allegations of bogus names registered in the voters list as far as the tampering of the Electronic Voting Machines is concerned, the Election Commission had earlier set aside all these allegations made by the BJP post the Lok Sabha elections.
