Despite continuous increase in tomatoes price, youths celebrated ‘La Tomatina’ to mark friendship day in Vadodara, Gujrat

At a time when the price of tomatoes are exceeding all previous rates, youths in Vadodara celebrated Friendship day through ‘La Tomatina’ fest, an event that calls for a tomato fight. According to the locals almost three tones of tomatoes were wasted, where every participant just had to pay Rs300 as entry fee. The event was organized at a private farm house, located on Sama-Savli road on the outskirts of the city. Not only the locals but also many Ministers of Gujarat were upset with the event, considering that the price of tomatoes have been becoming a big reason of concern all over India. In such a situation youngsters should be aware of how to behave responsibly.

But the participants of the event nor the organizer had expressed any regret for their activity. According to the organizer of the event, the tomato hurling festival was organized for the enjoyment and youths from Surat and Vadodara had participated in it.

The locals have demanded a stern action against the event organizer and the participants of the event so that such an activity is not repeated again. Kiran Kidwai – International Desk, NMTV
